I am currently using the hypoplastic model for gran materials from Prof. von Wolffersdorff to simulate soil excavations in a context of large deformations.
I have been searching in the open literature about the effects of the sand’s water content on the hypoplastic strength parameters, however at the moment, I’ve not found any publication reporting on this. For example, is the alpha parameter (controlling the peak stress ratio) affected by the water content?. From what I’ve read so far, these hypo parameters, seem to be independent of the soil’s water content, but of course, I am no expert.
I would really appreciate any comment on this.
