Dear all,
I’m using the UMAT file in which the hypoplastic model for thermal cycles is implemented.
In the Abaqus input file I have added the two lines necessary to define the 28 constants and the 17 state variables of the User Material.
Then, after a geostatic step, I have added a consolidation step in which the ground surface is cooled down.
The consolidation step is supposed to last one day but the analysis stops after the first increment with no error messages.
As there are no error messages, it seems that the Time Period has the same size of the Initial Increment Size but this is not the case because the Time Period is set to one day.
Can anyone help me?
Thank you!

Dear Chiara,
Maybe you could post the definition of the parameter input and the state variables. But from my experience I would guess that the initialization of the parameter or state variables is the problem (Function check_parms_hcea) . Did you checked the ifort file for some error messages?
Best regards,
Hans Henning
