Hello all,
I’m using the SANISAND UMAT I downloaded here for my research, the problem I found is it gives me wrong results in ABAQUS and INCREMENTAL DRIVER for element tests, especially for monotonic draind test (it doesn’t reach the peak and gives a weird curve), I’m suspecting parameter 18 called Ptmult, but I saw here that everyone gives it the value of zero which is the same value I’m using but it gives me wrong results.
Can somebody help me in this issue?
Attached deviatoric stress vs axial strain curves for monotonic triaxial test on a sand in abaqus and incremental driver (the peak should be at 1400KPa).
Thanks in advance.

dear Safia,
par 8 is axial shift of yield shape.
i.c.o. mohrcoulomb = coh/tan(phi)
Which value you use for Mc?
Dear Arie,
Thank you for your reply, I have a sand with coh=0.
However, I think I fixed the issue by giving “cz” (parameter 16) a big value = 10000, I don’t know if it will affect the calibration though.
par 8 = par 18
