The Soil Mechanics group led by David Mašín at Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic, is seeking three motivated PhD students with experience in modelling and/or experiments to work on the following projects:

1) Calibration of advanced constitutive models (supervisor: Tomáš Kadlíček)
2) Evaluation of soil behaviour including creep and numerical modelling of slow-moving landslides in Central Bohemian Uplands
(supervisor: Jan Jerman)
3) Thermal effects on the residual shear strength and creep behaviour of clays (supervisor: Gianvito Scaringi)

The “STARS” programme of the Faculty of Science aims at attracting eccellent local and international students by offering a competitive scholarship for a 4-year study period.
