Britta’s research activities span offshore geotechnical engineering applications from shallow to deep water and relate to both the oil and gas and the renewable energy industries. Her research combines experimental and numerical approaches to develop practical prediction methods for offshore foundations.
Britta is actively involved in the development of international guidelines through Joint Industry Projects and her membership of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) committee.
Britta is a Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Offshore Foundation Systems (COFS) at the University of Western Australia (UWA), where she also received her PhD. Britta previously obtained degrees from RWTH Aachen University, Germany, and Napier University, Edinburgh, UK.
Current projects include innovative foundation concepts for offshore wind farms as well as increasing the safety and reliability of oil and gas platforms through optimised foundation design. These are underpinned by improved understanding of fundamental science and the drive to achieve meaningful impact in practice.
