I am doing one-year of postdoctoral research in the field of geotechnical engineering. My postdoc project title is "Numerical and Analytical Study on the Behaviour of Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil Walls with Marginal Backfill Under Seepage". The main work that I am doing is related to finite element modelling with ABAQUS software. I am writing subroutine codes which will be implemented in the software.
My highlighted research interests include experimental tests, physical modelling (i.e. centrifuge modelling and 1-g tests), advanced numerical modelling with ABAQUS (along with writing Subroutine codes), programing, offshore geotechnical engineering, geosynthetic, earthen structures, unsaturated soil mechanics, and pile foundations. Besides my major contributions in writing research proposals, I have conducted fourteen research projects with postgraduate researchers from four different universities in Iran and India. These projects mainly focused on centrifuge modelling as well as numerical modelling.
As a senior geotechnical consultant, I have excellent experiences of industry work and I have designed a variety of geotechnical structures for four different geotechnical company in Iran. Some of my industry experiences include Design of Piled-Raft Foundations and Mat Foundations for Tall Buildings, Design of Micropile Systems, Design of Pile Foundations in Liquefied Soils, Design of Soil Improvement Systems (Stone Columns, Grouting, Deep Soil Mixing, …), Design of Nailing and Anchorage Wall Systems, Design of Soldier Pile Wall Systems, Design of Supporting System for Soil Slopes, Design of Machine Foundations (Under Dynamic Loading), Design of Machine Foundations on Piles (Under Dynamic Loading) and Design of Pile for Offshore Structures. These industry experiences have had a considerable effect on my teaching and research works as well as writing applicable research proposals.
