Dataset Title
BCV bentonite experimental and modelling datasets
Description
The Czech DGR concept is based on the use of bentonites extracted from Czech bentonite deposits. BCV (Bentonite Cerny Vrch) is a Ca/Mg bentonite extracted from the Cerny vrch bentonite deposit located in the Ceske Stredohodi Mts in the NW of the Czech Republic. It is produced industrially by Keramost a.s. at their Obrnice plant. BCV bentonite was chosen as a representative of Czech bentonites as a suitable material to be used in repository-related research. It was first subjected to testing in 2017 with a number of projects investigated its behaviour subsequently. As this bentonite behaviour is qualitatively an in most aspects also quantitatively comparable to other bentonites, this website aims at summarising the available experimental data so it can be used by research teams worldwide for development and calibration of various modelling tools and for comparison with THM behaviour of other bentonites.
