Hello Everyone,
I am trying to implement an unsaturated soil model (BBM or similar) in ABAQUS using UMAT. We want to assign a pore-pressure boundary condition for simulating the drying or wetting process. Consequently, a transient flow takes place through the domain. We aim to observe volume deformation due to changes in suction. However, UMAT does not have direct access to pore pressure or degree of saturation. Is there any way out?

You got to write a UEL, not a UMAT
