The SoilTest option is a quick and convenient procedure to simulate basic soil lab tests on the basis of a single point algorithm, i.e. without the need to create a complete finite element model. This option can be used to compare the behaviour as defined by the soil model and the parameters of a soil data set with the results of laboratory test data obtained from a site investigation. It also offers the possibility to optimise model parameters such that a best fit is obtained between the model results and the lab test data. The SoilTest facility works for any model, both standard soil models as well as user-defined models.
